Leisure Pools Journey to the USA

In 1988, Leisure Pools was founded in Australia by industry veteran Kerry Pain. The company has been heavily involved in the development of fiberglass swimming pools during the past twenty years. Technologies for Australian fiberglass swimming pools have achieved a world-class level with innovations in design, materials and manufacturing processes.

Thanks to its manufacturing technology, Leisure Pools in Australia is one of the top three pool manufacturers offiberglass swimming pools. The company dipped its toe in the U.S. waters in 2002. By 2003, Leisure Pools had established a permanent American headquarters and shipped its first load of fiberglass pools to the U.S.

Leisure Pools then shipped 150 fiberglass pools to the U.S. to establish the back bone of a dealer network. The response to the color, quality and presentation of the pool was so positive that Leisure Pools established a permanent manufacturing facility in the USA. The first pools were produced in June 2004 from a modest 24,000 square foot facility in San Antonio.

The company continued to grow and has expanded its dealer base across the United States. With more than 200 dealers – many of whom are foundation dealers who have been with the company since day one – Leisure Pools USA is expanding rapidly and providing a new experience in pool quality and style.

The San Antonio facility soon became very small as growth continued. So in early 2007 we began the search for a suitable new site. In late 2008, almost 2 years later, the Super Plant was opened. Based on Interstate 35 in New Braunfels, TX, the Super Plant is ideally located in the thriving corridor between Austin and San Antonio.

With 60,000 square foot under roof and 18 acres of highway frontage land, the Super Plant is the largest fiberglass pool manufacturing facility in the world and has been designed with a capacity of 5000 pools annually. The plant also features a stunning in ground pool Display Park that features 8 different pools installed in a variety of styles, sizes and colors. The pool park has become a Mecca for homeowners who are seeking to install a new pool as well as industry participants who wish to test new pool products.
