Leisure Pools Independent Dealers
Dealers wanted to build a Leisure Pools business together.
Note: Contact form is at the bottom of page.
To become a Dealer, we are looking for existing pool companies with a reputable background who have the ability and resources to market and install our pools.
We are not looking for exclusive arrangements. We do not require dealers to “switch” to Leisure Pools and leave their existing manufacturer.
The Leisure Pools range should be marketed as a premium pool targeted at your buyers who expect the benefits of a fiberglass pool but want a sense of style and color in their homes. The Leisure Pools range will compliment your existing product range. This is a ground floor opportunity to distribute the leading edge fiberglass swimming pools in the United States.
We have set out below answers to questions that we are frequently asked.
Will the Pool Color fade?
Without doubt this is the number one question we are asked in the United States. The answer is no, but over a period of say 20 years there may be some dulling in the surface, much like a car. The good news is the surface can be restored by applying a small amount of polish.
Leisure Pools has the exclusive rights to manufacture using the highly advanced Aquaguard® gel coats from Fiberglass International. Aquaguard® Gel coat finishes have been developed and tested by Fiberglass International (FGI) through the 1980's and 1990's in Australia. Over the years of development, the product called for exceptional chemical resistance, mechanical strength and weathering properties, especially the latter for use in exterior applications in Australia where the UV intensity is extremely high.
It is an outstanding pool finish that has endured constant testing and refinement and now boasts a full unconditional 10 year warranty against:
- Osmotic blistering
- Discoloration
- Fading
- Surface yellowing
Note: the product has been laboratory tested out to 20 years with no noticeable deterioration. The technology is not something that can reverse engineered. During its development literally thousands of potential gel coat and chemical compositions were evaluated in order to meet and exceed the test requirements for UV and pool chemical resistance. Only those ingredients which were found to meet and exceed the test criteria were approved for use in the original Aquaguard gel coats. But the development has continued and the same accelerated test procedures are still in use today as new formulations and ingredients are tested.
The results speak for themselves. Pools in the ground for over 10 years are inspected annually with no noticeable deterioration on the finish. Not a bad result, considering the Aquaguard® gel coats have been continually improved upon so that today it is even more resistant than it was 10 years ago. The accelerated testing in the USA shows the same results. Samples submitted to AOC, one of Americas leading resin companies, were boiled in water at 100C (212F) for 100 hours with no visible defects observed in the test panels.
But my manufacturer said that the color pools fade?
Of course they say that and for two reasons:
Firstly, they cannot obtain the Aquaguard® gel coats due to our exclusive USA license. If all you produce is white pools then all you can do is to put fear into your dealer’s minds about color. We hear it all the time: “Oh, color pools fade, stick with white” But before you take their advice ask some questions like:
- How many Aquaguard gel coat pools have they had experience with?
- Why do all pool manufacturers in Australia produce color pools (Fiberglass pools in Australia enjoy over 50% market share and not one of the manufacturers produce a white pool.)
A worthy question to ask is, “If they had access to the Aquaguard® gel coats, would they not respond to consumers demands for pools with style?”
Secondly, because there has not been the investment in research, development and testing, the attempts by US pool manufacturers to produce color pools have failed. Naturally the experience has been unpleasant and their pools have faded, bleached or become unsightly and subsequently then warned people off and discouraged the color option. This is done by either rejecting color or alternatively by appearing to offer color but pricing it high as to destroy any interest. Some also go as far as requiring the dealer and homeowner to sign a waiver acknowledging there is absolutely no warranty and absolving the manufacturer of all liability. The point is this: we are the industries leader in manufacturing pools with color; we have extensive testing and research to support it, and we give the industries longest warranty available for gel coats. Also be aware without the research, development and testing, some attempts at color, by US manufacturers, in the fast growing US fiberglass market have failed.
The Australian experience speaks volumes. Some 17 years ago the fiberglass segment was less than 10% of the market. With the development of color, fiberglass pools emerged from their slumber by homeowners demanding an alternative to the traditional white pool. Today, over 50% of new pool buyers choose stunning color fiberglass pools. That’s good news for homeowners but also good news for dealers as these pools will not only delight your customers, they will also make you, as a pool professional, look first class and result in many referrals.
What warranty is available?
Leisure Pools offers a lifetime structural warranty for the owner of the pool and ten years on our high performance Aquaguard® gel coat finish. That’s about 10 years more than you can hope to get on any other pool surface.
How is quality control handled?
Australia leads the world in fiberglass swimming pool construction methods and Leisure Pools is regarded as having the highest quality pools available. Our designs, laser leveled molds, and quality manufacturing processes are all focused on providing a quality standard unique in the industry. Each pool is thoroughly inspected by our quality control manager during each stage of the manufacturing process and on completion. We also source the highest quality raw materials and we are prepared to back it up. No other pool manufacturer uses AOC isophthalic resin in their structural layers. This high quality resin is generally used in manufacture of water and petroleum tanks which are designed to protect our environment. These superior resins possess a far greater resistance, strength and heat tolerance than of the more common general purpose resins. They are also much more expensive but we build up to a quality standard, not down to price.
What are the order and delivery arrangements?
Leisure Pools manufacturing facility in San Antonio, Texas has been operational since June 2004. We have a revolving line of inventory pools available. We can ship between 1 and 8 pools on a load and deliver usually within 4 days. In 2006 our mid west distribution yard openned providing more efficient access for our mid west dealers.
Now in 2008 we opened two more distribution yards in: Louisiana and North Carolina. They will be providing the Southeast and East Coast with same service as our mid west distribution yard.
Why are the designs so important?
One of the challenges we have had to overcome is the ability to transport a large bulky product great distances at an economical cost. In order to overcome this, we have designed our swimming pool range in a way that enables us to stack swimming pools inside of each other, much like you stack plastic cups inside of each other.
This design characteristic means we are able to transport a number of swimming pools with the cost of transport being split over the total number of pools sent. For example, we are able to transport on a truck, up to 10 swimming pools enabling significant transport cost efficiencies to be achieved. Furthermore, we have designed our pool styles so we are able to stack not only one style and size inside of each other but also different styles and sizes.
What if I am an existing Distributor for another company?
We are happy to work with other companies and we are not looking for exclusive arrangements. We do not require dealers to switch to Leisure Pools and leave their existing manufacturer. The Leisure Pools range should be marketed to your homeowners who expect the benefits of a fiberglass pool and are looking for quality and style.
How do we get started?
We are looking for quality dealers who will promote our premium line of pools. We look to these dealers to purchase at least one display pool as a means of getting started. With the display pool comes the dealer set up package. We personally visit all new dealers to carry out on site training.
